Monterey Bay Aquarium

Traditionally, the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s advertising was focused on visitation. We pivoted the message away from visitation-focused advertising and focused on their conservation programs instead. It worked.

Advertising and marketing in the healthcare space all looks the same—photos of smiling, happy patients and doctors. Everyone in the industry seems to speak in the same tone of voice. When Stanford Children’s Health hired us, we promised to give them a differentiated message, with a fresh voice and a look that was a million miles from expected.

Marley Medical is a company founded on the idea that people should be able to get world-class medical care for chronic conditions right in their living rooms. They came to us with a blank slate, and we developed a friendly, playful brand for them that will hopefully cut through the clutter in a crowded space.

MBA - Blue Whale

The Monterey Bay Aquarium asked us to come up with an idea that would stop people, get their attention, and make them think about the problem of plastic in the ocean. Our idea? A life-sized blue whale made out of locally-sourced plastic trash, sitting at the foot of Golden Gate bridge. The campaign included digital, social media and a short documentary about the whale.

As an independent contractor at NerdWallet I was tasked with building the digital marketing program including defining different creative strategies across multiple channels and building the digital marketing creative team. In 18 months the team expanded the program from one to five different categories and built various templates and tools that are still being used today.

Crimson & Quartz is a new Fetzer wine brand aimed towards a young, active and social wine enthusiast. Keeping with the paper illustration theme from the master brand, we created a more youthful, hipper campaign that tied into the original paper quiling campaign.

The 2011 Holiday Gear Guide was designed as an editorial selling tool and contained product spreads that were tailored toward different adventures as well as stories from The North Face athletes.
